The easiest, most enjoyable way for your son to prepare for his bar mitzvah

I started The Bar Mitzvah Prep School as an invitation.

…For Jewish boys to prepare for this special time in their lives – at their own pace and through a series of short and meaningful lessons that will help them grow and thrive – long after the celebrations are over.

…For parents to embrace the experience with their sons – by sharing in the learning, including open, heartfelt discussions about their own values and experiences.

Learn from the comfort of home at your son’s own pace

No expensive synagogue fees to worry about

Get connected to a local Rabbi for Bar Mitzvah Service

Flexible options – customize the experience with Hebrew reading classes, Torah chanting lessons, and Bar Mitzvah speech support

A bonding experience for you and your son

Lasting impact on confidence, relationships, and purpose

WHY PREPARE FOR BAR MITZVAH?

Celebrations matter, and as a proud parent myself, I understand the joy of an event that spotlights this wonderful moment in a child’s life. But a Bar Mitzvah is also a reminder that your son is a piece of a whole community. This humbling reminder – as well as the learning and connections that take place in preparing for Bar Mitzvah – offers your son an opportunity to build his relationships with everyone in his support network – and most importantly, with G-d. And that is definitely worth celebrating!

WHY A VIRTUAL FORMAT?

In recent times, we’ve come to appreciate the possibilities and convenience of virtual learning – while reaffirming the enduring importance of personal connection. The Bar Mitzvah Prep School brings together the best of both worlds… The virtual format allows for learning at your son’s own pace (and without the distractions that come in a typical classroom setting). But the lessons are also designed to be a springboard for personal connection – encouraging ongoing reflection with parents, family, and friends.

WHY ME?

I’ve always been able to explain complex topics clearly – and get right to their core and meaning. And that’s why being a teacher is central to my core. It is my passion and privilege to guide young men through this meaningful time – and to transform traditional (and often lacklustre) Bar Mitzvah preparation into a memorable, impactful, and fun experience.

“We wanted a program that would teach practical applications of Judaism for real life, not just abstract religious stuff.”

“When my son turned 12, we wanted to find a program that would teach him practical applications of Judaism for real life, not just abstract religious stuff. Rabbi Weinstein’s course was the perfect solution! I am definitely signing up my younger children when the time comes.”
